Program Description
Event Details
Join us for an inspiring program where kids will learn about American Sign Language (ASL), the Deaf community, and the important role of service dogs! Beth Dixon and her son Asher, both ASL users and advocates, will share their experiences and introduce us to their amazing service dog, Ollie. This engaging session will include a fun introduction to ASL, the chance to meet a real service dog, an educational discussion about accessibility and inclusion, and a description of how service dogs assist people in their daily lives. This is a fantastic opportunity for children to learn about different ways people communicate and better understand the vital work service animals do. No prior ASL knowledge required.
This program was created for Homeschoolers at the Library, but all "Schoolers" are welcome! Please register all children.
