Program Description

Event Details

Learn about British paleontologist Mary Anning and her amazing contributions to the study of fossils and dinosaurs. Discover how her friend Henry De la Beche became the first paleoartist as he created artistic renderings of the animals from her fossils. Examine some of today’s paleoartistic works. Become a paleontologist when you “discover” a new dinosaur, and since the discoverer gets to name the dinosaur, you can name the new animal, for example the TaylorSwiftasaurus or the pizzaraptor. Then become a paleoartist by creating your new discovery, adding paint, glitter, and other embellishments. Finally, generate a background and attach your new creation to make your dinosaur three-dimensional.
