Event Details

"Do My Feelings Matter?" Teen Emotional and Social Well-Being.

You are cordially invited to attend the first of a series of Community Conversations at Martin Library in York. The initial theme focuses on "Do My Feelings Matter?" Teen Emotional and Social Well-Being. The library’s intent is to increase knowledge, bridge understanding, and inspire collaborative action through a unique combination of artistic expression and community dialogue.

Motivational speaker Jennifer Foxworthy will moderate a lively panel discussion using questions raised by area youth and audience members. The panel, which includes both teens and community members, will discuss expectations placed on teens and the effect on overall physical and emotional health. Presented in partnership with the City of York Human Relations Commission, the program will also explore the risk factors and stereotypes teens face in their homes, schools and community.

As a special part of Sunday’s program, we will hear the creativity of two teen poets and present awards to the winners of the art show. RSVP is not required. I hope you can join us.

All teens in attendance will recieve a 'Wellness Kit' filled with reminders that their feelings do matter.
