Visit our poetry prompt stations to find some silly, zany and serene inspiration for creating a poem of your own.

SILLY

Pop a balloon to find an unusual poetry prompt that will bring giggles to you and everyone who reads your poem.

ZANY

Spin a rhyme using our rhyme spinning station.  Connect unconnected ideas with a play on words to make a limerick or other rhyme.

SERENE

Use the beautiful artwork from some of our best children's books to inspire a poem about nature or life.

Keep your poems to yourself or share them in the annual Celebration of Poetry contest hosted by the York County Libraries.
