Event Details

Whether you are just a beginner or an avid home baker it may have crossed your mind to consider baking with sourdough. However, just the vocabulary associated with it (starter, discard, autolyse, bulk fermentation, stretch and fold) may have caused you to abandon the thought, feeling that it's just too complicated. But it doesn't have to be because bakers with experience can help you unravel the mysteries of the art. They can share some of the secrets that they have discovered that simplify the process without negatively impacting the final product.

Heather EdDahmouni, who resides in Stewartstown, has become know in the community for her sourdough baking.

As part of the Third Wednesday series of community programs at the Mason-Dixon Public Library, Heather will share what she has learned and demonstrate some of the techniques that are unique to sourdough baking. Through years of trial and error she has found that some of the intricacies of working with sourdough prescribed by the experts can be simplified without sacrificing taste or texture.

Seating is limited. Registration is required to attend. Call the library at 717-993-2404 to reserve a seat.
