Event Details
Due to the growing popularity of the Youth Empowerment Summit (YES), it will be a 2-day event this year! Friday is a "high school field trip" event and Saturday is a "parent/teen" event. Come for one or both.
On Friday, Oct. 17th, teens will take part in breakout sessions related to higher education, career planning, community service, and personal health. Teens can also sign up for a tour of York College’s campus. Lunch is provided. Public school, private school, and homeschooled students are welcome. This is an all-day event that teachers register their students for but individual registrations are accepted, too.
On Saturday, Oct. 18th, the York View Room at York College will be set up for a teen information expo. Teens can talk to community experts- practice job interviews, advice on completing application, volunteer opportunities, and more. There will be panel discussions for parents/caregivers in the lecture hall. This is an open event. No registration required.
After students are registered for the event, an email will be sent to teachers requesting that each teen select their own breakout sessions. More details about parking, exact location, and lunch will be included.
