The Quiet Reading Room is a large event space on the main floor of Martin Library. This spaces offers a flexible layout, a second-story balcony**, and includes access to various A/V equipment.
**Note: The balcony is not suitable for children, as it has a low railing. This small space is often used for photography/videography.
Rental Prices
Business/Individual use:
- Half-Day Rate: $400 (Minimum rental duration - 4 hours)
- Full-Day* Rate: $700 (Maximum of 8 hours)
Non-profit use:
- Half-Day Rate: $150 (Minimum rental duration - 4 hours)
- Full-Day* Rate: $250 (Maximum of 8 hours)
*Reservations of more than 4 hours will be charged the full day rate.
For an additional upcharge, the Quiet Reading Room is available for reservation when the library is closed. Please email medmondson@yorklibraries.org for more details.
Equipment
The following audio/visual equipment is available in the room:
- Wall-mounted projector and screen*
- Room audio and speakers
- Wireless microphones
- Podium with HDMI connection
Please be sure to select the "Quiet Reading Room A/V Equipment" in your application.
*Note: The projector faces the fireplace at the front of the room (see picture), which may require specific seating arrangements. Please keep this in consideration when selecting your room setup/layout.
Seating
- Tables and seating can be arranged to meet the group's needs
- High-top "cafe-style" tables are available upon request
