Event Details

The Guthrie Memorial Library will host a talk on Music as Creative Resistance During Holocaust with Deb Smith

Creative resistance refers to attempts by individuals to maintain their humanity, personal integrity, dignity, and sense of civilization in the face of Nazi attempts to dehumanize and degrade them.

Maintaining cultural activities is an example of cultural resistance.

During the presentation we will listen to different examples of music, and look at the lives of musicians during this time.

Each session is different; come to both and get different information.

Mondays, February 3 and 10 at 6:00pm.
